Why Agile Coaching Doesnt Really Work
Why Agile Coaching doesnt work most of the time in the corporate environment?
Through my career I have never been approached by a Leader, who sought coaching to understand how to support his/her team better. Its always coaching hired for “fixing” somebody else. And that model obviously doesnt work. Similarly, like you cannot get a coach to get your spouse lose weight and eat healthier. You can get a coach for yourself to learn how to support your spouse better to lead a healthier living, but you cannot get a coach for somebody else especially when they dont want any coaching.
It’s an easy metaphor to illustrate that the “forced coaching” doesn’t work and most people get it at the personal level, however, very sadly this is how it’s done in the majority of the cases in the corporate environment. And that’s the reason why Agile Transformations fail badly for too many organizations.
